David Poole can easily be called one of the greatest guitar players in the United States , possibly in the world. He began playing guitar at the age of six. By the time he was 14, he was teaching at the Atlanta Institute of Music (AIM), substituting for Jimmy Herring (Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead). He studied under such guitar greats as Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert, Shawn Lane, Robin Ford, Vinny Moore, Jason Becker, Andy Timmons, and Steve Morse. Not long after, he was sharing the stage with those same names including: Jimmy Herring, Scott Henderson , Steve Freeman, Jason Becker, Robin Ford, with David Benoit on piano, even playing with Albert Lee, who played with Elvis.

Still in his teens, David authored the curriculum and study guides for AIM's Guitar Program, which are currently used to teach Scales Classes Levels 1-4. Their quality rivals and even exceeds the books and curricula available from some of the great guitar programs in the country. Designed specifically with the lead guitarist in mind, these books have been called the “complete bible for guitar scales.”

According to David, “ These books enable the guitarist to have a clear view of the neck of the guitar, which does not have to be any more complicated than it really is.” These books are comprehensive and error-free.

David has been a long-standing faculty member of the Atlanta Institute of Music (AIM). His musical interests span the spectrum of Rock, Jazz, Country, Blues and Classical. He has played at numerous venus throughout the Southeast and his contemporary instrumentals have gained airplay on radio stations throughout the Southeast. He has also written musical scores for films and played on numerous albums. He currently lives in Atlanta and is working on a new album.

If you want to see the guitar fret board from the 1st fret to the 22nd fret clearly, moving from position to position while improvising/soloing, the CAGED SYSTEM book explains the way all the great players visualize there chords, arpeggios, scales etc.

As a lead player, you will no longer be boxed in at one position when soloing. If your ear is telling you to go higher, you don't have to guess where those notes are, you will see the next positions going up the fret board clearly so you can solo in one position through the whole song, if you choose, or you can solo anywhere on the fret board according to where your ear leads you.

For the chordal player/ songwriter, this book gives you a vast chord vocabulary that you can build on for a lifetime and help you get out of playing that one chord in only two positions. The CAGED System instead gives you hundreds of possibilities of positions to play chords and different inversions moving all the way up the fret board.

Once learning the CAGED System, a player can play through a song such as "all the things you are" and stay in one position or you can move around as your ear guides you. this is a system that I learned early from Jimmy Herring, which takes 5 chord shapes and uses them to visualize the entire fret board. Not only is it a must for the serious guitarist, but it is the system that I use in all of my books.

This book has color coded notes in the examples for better understanding. This book will help the guitar player visualize the fret board on the guitar as easily as a piano player visualizes the keys on a piano. It will truly be an eye opener.

In sheet music and tab form using Finale, this book gives you scale sequences, scale patterns, interval licks, arpeggio sequences and exercises, lines for improvising using triads, Quadra chord shapes, wide intervallic leaps, 7th arpeggio lines, and many other useful exercises. This book includes exercises that are common and also exercises that are not seen in other books.

Also included are several etudes. One is a jazz progression playing the arpeggios through the chord changes to give you an arpeggio solo to play over. Another example is a classical sounding arpeggio etude that uses 7th arpeggios and triads in the cycle of 5ths, which has never been seen in a book before. These etudes were used for tests at Atlanta Institute of Music.

This book gives you more detail ways to use the Scales, Arpeggios, and Intervals that are talked about in my other books. It puts these scales, arpeggios. etc. to use in lots of original triad exercises, Interval licks, 7th arpeggio. sequences, and etudes. If you already have my other three books, this puts to use in examples the vast information that is attained in those books and puts in into an easy to read compilation of sheet music and tab. This book with out a doubt will make your picking faster and more accurate and give you melodic runs/licks for you to expand on.

This book is a must for the lead player or Arpeggio / chordal player. No matter what level of playing you are, this book will definitely challenge you and take your playing to another level.

This book is an essential study guide for the serious guitarist who wants to further their understanding in the theory that matters to the modern day guitar player, such as how to build the major scale, modes, and how to figure out the 7 chords in any key. You will be able to look at the chords in a song and find out what key center it's in, and you will finally know what scale to play over that song.

This book will also help you understand the sound of each major scale mode and how to finally understand the modes. This book gives you chords to practice each mode over and gives you 5 patterns of each mode and a chord voicing highlighted in blue for each pattern. This makes it very easy to visualize the fret board, which will help you with ideas when writing a song, it will make your improvising more melodic, your chord vocabulary more complete, and it will truly give you so much knowledge that the sky is truly the limit.

You will also learn some important knowledge about commonly used terms, or words, that you will encounter when in a studio and or around professional musicians. You will be able to recognize chord symbols for virtually any chord when reading a chord chart, you will know the formula of those chords, and or arpeggios, and how to figure out chords in a progression, such as the chords in a 1, 3. 4, 5 progressions in the key of F, which is commonly used language used by musicians .
